Pain and Natural Ways to Relieve it

Everyone at some time has experienced pain. It may be due to injury or some disease, and nobody likes to experience pain. The general way is to consult a doctor and take medication and most of the times the doctors prescribe painkillers which treat the symptom and not the disease or injury.

Ayurveda addresses pain in quite a different manner. The therapies of Ayurveda involve the  use of herbs, oils, and lifestyle management. Pain is taken as an experience of the mind and the body and known as “Shula” and treated in quite a different way. Ayurveda retreats in Rishikesh, India also takes the same approach towards pain. Pain is actually the natural response of the body to damages which can be physical or mental. The pain killers that we use have side effects and are harmful to the body. The reason for natural remedies for pain relief becoming popular is due to the harmful effects of normal pain killers.

The major causes of pain are due to cuts, burns, accidents and other forms of injuries. Loss or separation and the grief following it are also a cause of pain. Excessive work and exhaustion can cause pain in the neck and lower back. The sedentary work system involving long hours of sitting or standing can also cause pain. Stress and fear and malnutrition are  a cause of pain too. The pain in the digestive system can be due to  an  intake of too hot or too cold foods, intake of processed food which causes poor digestion.

Pain relief can be done by using natural remedies. Here are three natural ways to relive pain.

Peppermint is a natural way to relive headaches and Musta can be used to relive muscle pain. There are many other herbs which help to lower pain naturally without any bad side effects.
